These beautifully crafted ata bags are handmade in East Bali by local village artisans who are trying to start their own home industry. Each bag takes approximately 2 weeks to complete – from harvesting the ata reeds to the finishing touches of attaching straps, closures, and sewing in the 100% cotton Indonesian batik lining.

At Bali Coast, we’re committed to ethically sourcing our products, which includes ensuring our suppliers are paid a decent, liveable wage. The artisans who hand-make our bags work in home environments and aren’t subject to filling daily quotas.
